Maeve Sherryl Adhiambo is an associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews. She joined the Firm as a trainee lawyer in 2023 where she received training as a pupil in both the Dispute Resolution Department and the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate Department. Maeve currently works at the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate Department.

Maeve has experience in conducting legal research and has assisted in transactions involving advising on corporate matters, commercial matters, and mergers and acquisitions. She is involved in, Real Estate, Corporate Restructuring, Legal Opinions, and preparation of various types of Commercial Contracts.

Experience

  • Confidential client: Presently involved in conducting legal research and advising our client, a global agribusiness company, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, who intended to partner with a Kenyan partner to secure a concession from the Government of Kenya to develop and operate up to 200,000 acres of land under the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPDA). The Project involved advice on the key legal aspects and requirements the Client should consider when doing business in Kenya, advice on the potential structuring of the joint venture between the client and the Kenyan Partner and a high-level review of the draft agreements and the Project Documents.
  • Confidential clients: Assisting in real estate transactions for various clients, including conducting preliminary due diligence, drafting conveyancing documents, engaging in the negotiation of contractual terms, reviewing conveyancing documents, and attending to registration formalities on the respective conveyancing documents.
  • Confidential client: Currently involved in the restructuring of shareholding in two pharmaceutical  companies including carrying out official searches, drafting documents relating to the changes in shareholding and attending to the registration formalities on the respective company documents. 
  • Confidential clients: Presently engaged in conducting red flag due diligence for two clients, who seek to offer debt investments to companies.
  • Confidential client: Assisted in legal research and preparation of court documents on behalf of a large insurance company looking to challenge the decision of the Insurance Regulatory Authority.
  • Confidential client: Assisted in legal research, preparation of court documents and attending client meetings on behalf of a key multinational company in the retail sector looking to challenge the decision of the Competition Authority of Kenya. 
  • Confidential clients: Assisted in immigration transactions for various clients, including preparing client documents for various immigration applications, accompanying clients for biometric appointments and attending to the processing and issuance of immigration permits.
