Lavinia is a senior associate at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews. She joined the firm as a trainee lawyer in 2016 and is currently working in the Corporate, Commercial and Real Estate department.

Lavinia has experience advising on corporate matters, commercial matters, and mergers and acquisitions. She is involved in business set-up, due diligence, corporate restructuring, legal and regulatory compliance, legal opinions and preparation of various types of commercial contracts.  

Experience

  • Confidential client: Advising an international company on the regulatory and compliance requirements for setting up a taxi hailing service in Kenya.
  • Confidential client: Assisting in conducting the due diligence exercise over a Tier 2 Kenyan bank with respect to the proposed acquisition of 22% of its share capital by an international company.
  • Confidential client: Drafting some of the transaction documents for the sale of its oil marketing business to a pan-African downstream oil company.
  • Confidential client: Assisting in conducting the due diligence exercise for the acquisition of a 65% stake in a Tier 2 Kenyan bank by four private equity firms.
  • Confidential client: Advising and reviewing the relevant transaction documents relating to the investment of £80 million by a sole corporation of the UK government into a Kenyan company.
  • Confidential client: Advising on the acquisition of 100% of two local flower companies by an international company.
